Membership
As AVBN is the only pre-qualified network of Australian virtual businesses there are certain criteria which must be met before you can become a member. The basic requirements are:
At least 3 years in business.
At least 5 years prior experience in administration/secretarial or your specialty.
At least 1 verifiable industry certification (ASO, MVA, etc) - or in process of obtaining same.*
An active member of at least one other network.
No longer than 18 months out of the workforce prior to commencement of business.
A working website.
Be able to provide 3 current business referees. (Note: these are not prior employment references)
As the membership is pre-qualified you must be prepared to provide three business references so that your assertions can be verified. If you subcontract to other VAs only ONE VA referee will be accepted.
In your application you will be asked to list your main service specialty. Please think about this carefully. This is a specialist network and it is not possible to list you in all service areas in the Specialty Directory. You can nominate a maximum of 4 specialists areas. Visit the Specialty Directory to see current service offering areas. If your area of specialty is not listed please include it and we can add it to the directory.
Please note, whilst new virtual assistants and virtual businesses cannot be listed in our directories, if you do not fulfill the above criteria you can still join the free listserv which will give you reduced rate access to webinars as well as a place to learn from the best in the world until you can meet the criteria (overseas businesses are also members of our Google Group). (*Note: If you meet the remaining criteria you may qualify for the CAVB certification and this will count as your 1 verifiable certification. This is not a lifetime certification and will need to be renewed every three years.)
